Adult Speech Services
Comprehensive assessment and individualised therapy for adults experiencing communication and swallowing difficulties.
I work closely with each person, and their support network, to deliver care that is tailored, evidence-based, and meaningful in everyday life. I’m committed to helping you communicate with confidence and participate fully in the activities that matter most to you.
Our services
Speech
Assessment and therapy for adults whose speech has become unclear, slurred, or difficult to understand. Whether caused by stroke, Parkinson's, brain injury, or other neurological conditions, I use targeted exercises and evidence-based techniques to improve clarity, coordination, and confidence in everyday conversation.
Learn more →Aphasia
Aphasia affects the ability to speak, understand, read, and write — but it does not affect intelligence. Over 140,000 Australians live with aphasia, most commonly after stroke or brain injury. I provide personalised therapy focused on rebuilding language skills for everyday life, along with support and training for family members and carers.
Learn more →Swallowing (Dysphagia)
More than one million Australians live with swallowing difficulties. Untreated dysphagia can lead to aspiration pneumonia, malnutrition, and social withdrawal from mealtimes. I provide thorough assessment and practical management so that eating and drinking can be safer, more comfortable, and more enjoyable.
Learn more →Voice
Therapy for adults whose voice has become hoarse, weak, strained, or unreliable. Whether it's a voice that gives out by the end of the day, changes after surgery, or has weakened with age or neurological conditions, I use practical, exercise-based techniques to restore comfort, strength, and confidence in your voice.
Learn more →Parkinson's-Related Communication
Up to 90% of people with Parkinson's will experience changes to their speech or voice. Many don't realise how quiet or unclear they've become. As a Certified SPEAK OUT!® Provider, I deliver the SPEAK OUT! Therapy Program developed by Parkinson Voice Project® — with ongoing group support to maintain your gains long-term.
Learn more →Social Communication
For adults on the autism spectrum or with ADHD who find social situations exhausting or hard to navigate. As a Certified PEERS® Provider, Edwina delivers the evidence-based PEERS program developed at UCLA, supporting motivated adolescents and adults to build meaningful social connections.
Learn more →Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
When speech alone isn't enough, modern AAC opens up new ways to communicate. I support both low and high tech options, including iPad apps, voice generating AAC devices, and picture boards (communication boards). I assess your needs, trial the right options, and provide training so you can express yourself, make decisions, and stay independent. NDIS funding is available for eligible participants. I also help clients and families create Communication Passports — a one-page, first-person profile that travels with you to new carers, hospital stays, and appointments, so the people around you understand how you communicate from the first conversation.
Communication & Performance Coaching
Voice, confidence, and delivery coaching for public speaking, wedding speeches, interviews, audition preparation, and performance — combining speech pathology with professional acting expertise.
Learn more →Corporate Workshops
Help your team communicate with confidence, clarity, and presence. Workshops grounded in the Socratic method of coaching — interactive, practical, and tailored to your organisation's needs.
